  • A hot week ahead!

    Sun 18 Jun 2017 Mrs Quant-Epps

It looks like we're in for some hot weather this week so please make sure your children come into school with their sun cream, hats and bottles of water.

On Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a long walk in the sun as the year 6 classes will take it in turns to learn about making pizzas as part of their enterprise research. F2 have their Sports Day on Wednesday afternoon (1.30pm) and the year 6 children will be helping with this. Friday sees KS2 Sports Day (1.15pm) and again the children will need protecting from the sun.

Also this week we have NSPCC workshops for years 5 and 6 on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Representatives from the NSPCC will be collecting sponsor money from us on Thursday and we'll let you know how much we have raised for Buddy's Workout as soon as we know. There has been so much support for this and it's a big thank you from us.

On Monday, Samworth Church Academy uniform staff will be coming in to measure the year 6 pupils in preparation for September.

What exciting times! Thank you to those who have brought in certificates about achievements out of school to share with us - we look forward to hearing more from them all. There is so much talent in our school and it is great to find out more about what the children are up to.

  • Official Berry Tree Opening

    Tue 13 Jun 2017 Mrs Quant-Epps
A massive THANK YOU to all of those who came to our opening event. Here are a few pictures with Mansfield Building Society and One Stop who supported the event.
  • Change of date: Samworth Year 6 Information Evening to take place on Wednesday 14th June.

  • Healthy Eating Week

    Sun 11 Jun 2017
This week is our Healthy Schools Week at Berry Hill and all of our children will be involved from F2 to Year 6! We will be having many visitors to the school including Thackeray Dentists, the Everyone Health Team and Freed Beeches Body Confidence. Some of our pupils will also have the opportunity to make out of school visits to Tesco for Farm to Fork and Oak Tree Leisure Centre for sports sessions. We will also be keeping fit in our sponsored workout sessions supporting the NSPCC. Children can take part in the five challenges which are: Have breakfast, Have 5 a day, Drink plenty of water, Get active and Try something new. The British Nutrition Foundation are also running some live webinars to kick off the week.
  • NSPCC fundraiser

    Sun 11 Jun 2017

Following the NSPCC's visit to Berry Hill, the children will have brought home sponsor forms. This week we will be doing workouts for Buddy during our PE lessons to raise money for this worthwhile cause. The children have been asked to collect some sponsors (although not strangers) and to post contributions in collection boxes around school by Thursday 22nd June. Thank you for your continued support.
