Understanding the World
Understanding the world involves children making sense of their physical world and community.
Within nursery children become curious, actively exploring and asking questions. Children use their senses to experience natural phenomena such as seasonal changes; walking in autumn leaves, searching for mini beast, and exploring the properties of natural materials. Children learn to respect and care for living things. Children talk about their families, special times and celebrations; they learn about different cultures, special days and develop positive attitudes about the differences between people.
