The next few weeks are going to be a challenge for us all but we are still here to help and advise you if needed. There is a contact form at the bottom of this page through which we can help you to find the support that you need. 

Contact details for the Healthy Families Team for parents and carers - The Healthy Families Team is a service for parent and carers of children aged 0 – 19 years to ask for help about a range of issues, such as: feeding and nutrition, child development, parenting advice and support, emotional health and wellbeing, behaviour difficulties, family health

Parentline - part of the Healthy Families team offer

This is a confidential text messaging service for parents and carers across Nottinghamshire  - Text Parentline on 07520 619919

Parents and carers can contact the text messaging service for advice from Monday to Friday 9.00am - 4.30pm excluding bank holidays.  Messages sent to the dedicated number are delivered to a secure website, and responded to by the Healthy Family Team.

The texting service is an easy way for parent and carers of children aged 0 – 19 years to confidentially ask for help about a range of issues, such as:

  • feeding and nutrition
  • child development
  • parenting advice and support
  • emotional health and wellbeing
  • behaviour difficulties
  • family health
  • Restorative Thinking and Positive Relationships: preventing and managing conflict With COVID-19 keeping us all at home, there may be times when we feel worried and stressed and this can lead to family tension, arguments and conflict. When children see parents/carers communicating well and staying calm, it can help them cope with their own big emotions. These four short learning sequences are an introduction to restorative and relational thinking - a few techniques that can help us to better manage emotions and stay calm, and to keep communicating with each other in positive ways.
  • Support Your Worried Child - Free course for parents/carers from Creative Education During these uncertain times we all face, perhaps you have found yourself in the challenging position as a parent or carer with a child who is now attending school remotely or on a distanced learning basis. This can be a worrying time for children and young people as well as adults. Children are missing their friends and the goal posts are constantly changing about school and how they are expected to learn. This course will give you some strategies to support you in communicating about mental health and feelings.

  • Every Mind Matters Expert advice and practical tips to help you look after your and your families mental health and well-being
  • Parents Helpline - YoungMinds Our Parents Helpline is available to offer advice to parents and carers worried about a child or young person under 25. You may have questions about a child’s behaviour, emotional wellbeing, or mental health condition.
  • Action for Children We support families by providing expert advice, support and parenting programmes
  • Nottinghamshire Mind @Notts_Mind Hi I’m Marie and I work for Nottinghamshire Mind I am available to chat with anyone who may be low in mood , feeling isolated and struggling in these difficult times.
