Cross Country
Saturday 23rd November
Berry Hill attended the second event out of three in the cross country winter league on Saturday morning at Sherwood Pines. Another 9 children attended to represent the school in the miserable weather!
Again the children put 100% effort into the run. You could see the pain in their faces but they pushed themselves to the end. What great determination.
Again, we appreciate the time they have taken out of their weekends to represent school and the fantastic support from their parents too in the rain!
We go again in a couple of weeks.

12 children from Berry Hill, 6 girls and 6 boys, represented school. It was a long, flat course of approximately 1500m. All the children ran confidently and represented school amazingly.
Berry Hill came 2nd overall in the boys and the girls competitions.
Three of the children who competed have qualified for the county event in February at Wollaton Park.
Amazing effort, well done!

It was a challenging course but the Berry Hill students took it in their stride and put 100% effort in. They represented school well and looked the part in their blue kits.
We really appreciate the time they have taken out of their weekends to represent school and the fantastic support from their parents too.
Boys are 11th overall and girls are 13th overall after the first event.
It was a great event that was run brilliantly.
Well done team!

Year 5/6 Cross Country
Mansfield Harriers held a cross country event on Saturday morning at King George V Park. 15 amazing children represented Berry Hill.
They were all fantastic. They came to the event looking the part, wearing all the new Berry Hill sporting gear and acted the part too. They gave 100% in the race and did us proud.
We really appreciate that they took the time out of their busy weekend to come and do us proud. We also thank the parents and carers that came along to support them.
It was a great event that was run brilliantly. Although we didn’t win, we all really enjoyed it and will be entering another team next year.
Well done team!

A huge thank you and congratulations to the 23 runners that took part in the cross country event on King George V Park. Each and every one of our runners did a fantastic job.

The boys team finished with 35 points in total and a finishing position of 1st!
Well done to all of the children!

Saturday 2nd February 2019
A huge congratulations to our cross country team who braved the cold at Wollaton Park.
Lily finished 38th in the 5/6 girls race
What a wonderful afternoon it has been today!
Not only has it been a marvellously, sunny October day but our year 5 and 6 cross country runners have been marvellous too!
11 children pulled on their Berry Hill t-shirts to represent our school at Manor Complex to take part in a 1700 metre race. The girls took to the start line first and set off into the distance. They were absolutely brilliant and all of them finished in the top 20 out of 46 competitors! One of our girls won the whole event, finishing 1st and qualifying for the finals of the cross country county championships in February.
Next up were the boys…they were keen to get started and set off at a fast pace. Within a short amount of time though, a red Berry Hill t-shirt came into view, way out in the lead, jogging across the finish line in 1st position! Closely followed by another Berry Hill runner in 3rd! Both boys gaining their spot in the finals of the cross country county championships in February too. The rest of the boys team came back in steady intervals out of the 57 competing boys.
We were so proud of all of the Berry Hill girls and boys who were amazing today. It was hard work and tiring just watching you all! Well done everyone!
